All Beverly schools have been closed Friday due to a snowstorm that has hit the northeast.
Although a snow emergency was not in effect Friday morning, the commissioner of public services, Michael Collins, sent out messages by way of the emergency notification service asking residents to remove their cars from the street.
Collins then issued a parking ban around 12 p.m. to allow for snow removal. Officials are asking residents to keep vehicles off the streets, adding that towing will begin at 8 p.m.
City plows as well as private contractors are currently out trying to clean up the streets.
