Last year, a survey from the ISACA, an association of information technology professionals, said the average employee planned to spend the equivalent of two full workdays shopping online during the holiday season. The survey also said one in 10 employees sinks as much as 30 hours a year into online shopping.
According to Driscoll, shopping online at work can be a double-edged sword. On one hand, he said, "you can waste all day shopping." On the other, employees might actually save time by buying something in seconds online rather than making a much longer trip to the store.
