My 3 minutes of video fame

Posted by Dan Wasserman November 6, 2008 10:36 AM

The kind folks at put together a short video of my workday on Tuesday as the country awaited the returns of the election. If you want a glimpse of my eating and drawing habits, the video is here and the final drawing is here.

Concrete Expressionism

I love to hear about the way that other doodlers think while they are working on a drawing. In a blog posting, cartoonist Richard Thompson provides a charming glimpse into his total immersion technique for drawing his characters' expressions.

I'm told by reliable sources that his terrific comic strip, Cul de Sac, will start appearing in the Globe later this month.

Dan Wasserman has been cartooning for the Globe editorial page since 1985. He has published two collections of drawings, "We've Been Framed" (Faber & Faber, 1987) and "Paper Cuts" (Ivan R. Dee, 1995). His cartoons are widely reprinted and are syndicated internationally by Tribune Media Services. He draws more quickly than he types.
