CarlySXSW2010.jpgThe Boston Phoenix has a new editor. Carly Carioli (left) has taken the helm of the alt-weekly, president Brad Mindich announced yesterday. Carioli, 37, has spent the past four years as the online editor for the Phoenix papers. Lance Gould, who was hired as editor three years ago, was dismissed in an editorial shakeup, according to executive editor Peter Kadzis.

A news release said Carioli named online listing editor Ashley Rigazio as events editor for the newly combined web and in-paper Arts and Entertainment operation. Michael Marotta, a music writer from the Boston Herald, will become the weekly's music editor. Also hired, as a staff writer: Eugenia Williamson, a freelance contributor to the Phoenix and the Sunday Globe.
