Sean Landers will be a busy man this fall, taking on the directorship of both the Wakefield Choral Society and the Mishawum Choral Society of Winchester and Woburn.

Landers, of Watertown, graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with degrees in vocal performance and music education. He received the Dimmock Scholarship Award for vocal excellence, and was twice a finalist in a regional National Association of Teachers of Singing competition in both classical and musical theater divisions.

He recently completed his master’s in music education at Boston University with a vocal performance concentration.

Landers also was selected to direct the Mishawum group, which performs at the Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church in Winchester, where he is director of music.

The first three rehearsals of the Wakefield Choral Society - 6:45 p.m. Sept. 12, 19, and 26 at Wakefield High School - are open and provide an opportunity for newcomers to decide whether they want to join. There are no auditions, but members are required to be able to carry a tune, attend rehearsals, and practice between rehearsals.
