Changes abound in Somerville's Union Square
The square was one of the city's first commercial districts since so many trade routes passed through it. Union Square hasn't developed at the same rate as nearby Porter and Davis square, largely because it is not next to a rapid transit T line. But that will change eventually after the construction of a Green Line extension. The neighborhood is both active and eclectic.
