The traditional black and red colors that represent the Winchester Sachems Volleyball will be put aside on Friday October 18. Similarly, their Woburn Tanner opponents will shed their Orange and Black. For one evening, both volleyball teams’ colors will be PINK.
For its community service project the WHS girls volleyball teams have arranged a SERVE FOR THE CURE game against Woburn on Friday evening. The games begin at 5:15 and the evening culminates with the varsity match at 7pm. Admission is suggested $5 per person with commemorative SERVE FOR THE CURE t-shirts, pizza, and refreshments will be available and the programs will donate all proceeds to the Winchester Hospital Breast Care Center.
“Our players are excited to step up and take part in this project,” notes Winchester Head Coach John Fleming. “SERVE FOR THE CURE is always the highlight of our regular season and spectators will be treated to a spirited series of volleyball games. It’s especially great for our senior players. Our inaugural SERVE FOR THE CURE event was when these players were young freshman and they have watched the evening grow through their high school careers.” SERVE FOR THE CURE begins at 5:30 with Freshman and Junior Varsity matches followed by the Varsity teams going head to head at 7 pm. Please use the Winchester High School Field House entrance which at the back of the left side parking area. For more information call 781-729-7661.
