(Isabel Leon / City of Boston)A ribbon-cutting was recently held for a new apartment complex in West Roxbury called Ridgecrest Village.
Officials from Chestnut Hill Realty, Mayor Thomas M. Menino and other local officials gathered for the formal unveiling on Oct. 13.
The project, estimated previously to cost about $12 million, added 48 rental units next to the 144-unit Ridgecrest Green development on Edgemere Road, according to the Menino’s office
The expansion originally planned to be significantly larger but was scaled back amid community concerns, city officials said. The final project received much community support.
The new units “are renting very quickly and they have made an aesthetic improvement to that section of Edgemere Road,” the city said in a statement.
