Dana Hall School Art Gallery in Wellesley holding first artist-in-residence showcase through Dec. 19
The Dana Hall School Art Gallery will hold its first artist-in-residence showcase through Dec. 19, with a display of ceramics created by Goce Davidov, who will be working in the gallery every day and talking with visitors.
Davidov, originally from Macedonia, created new work for the exhibit. His ceramics were ired in the Dana Hall ceramics studio; he is also showing paintings, drawings and photographs with historical and contemporary imagery, according to a release for the show.
“Finding beauty in ugliness, the order in the chaos, peace in anxiety, pristine unclean belief, explaining the untold things,” he writes in his artist statement in the release. “Ceramics as a material, with its natural warmth, capacity for modeling and shaping, contains an action in the artwork which allows me to create my own language through my art.”
The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The Dana Hall Art Gallery offers a program of exhibitions by local and visiting artists throughout the academic year, according to the release. It is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. It is closed on weekends and school holidays.
