The Watertown School Committee is searching for local residents to help create a 10- to 12-person citizen advisory committee, which will assist in developing performance measures used to assess the district’s progress in meeting education goals.
The committee’s representatives will include appointed members, such as a town councilor and members from the school department, as well as parents, residents and former students interested in applying.
To apply, residents can submit a letter of interest by 5 p.m. Friday Dec. 7 to the superintendent’s office at 30 Common St., Watertown, Mass. 02472. The letter of interest should include why the applicant is seeking membership; his or her relationship or involvement in the schools; and any background or experience with developing performance measures.
The advisory committee is expected to meet three to five times in the coming months, and will present a written and oral report to the School Committee by March 4.
