Watertown police arrested a local resident last weekend for punching a cab driver after a night out in Boston, a spokesman for the department said.
Nathan Archibald, 38, was picked up in Boston and driven to his apartment at 124 Nichols Ave. in Watertown around 9:30 p.m. last Saturday night.
When the cab driver told Archibald the fare - $32.25 - Archibald allegedly gave the driver $17 and punched him in the side of the face before walking into the house, said Watertown Police Lieutenant Michael Lawn.
Police officers were called to the scene and located Archibald in his apartment and placed him under arrest. He was charged with fare evasion and assault and battery, Lawn said.
