Watertown police say they arrested an alleged drunk driver this past Saturday after she left a path of destruction in her wake.
An officer patrolling Main Street in Watertown just before 4 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 said he saw a 2004 Honda Accord being driven with a shredded front tire.
The patrolman followed the car onto Waverly Avenue, where he pulled the driver over. The driver, Marguerite Conley, 25 of Belmont, was issued a sobriety test, which she failed, said Watertown Police Lieutenant Michael Lawn.
Later, officers said they found that Conley had allegedly struck a crosswalk sign on Winsor Avenue, and found pieces of debris and her car's bumper at the scene, Lawn said.
Conley was arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle under the influence, and for leaving the scene of property damage.
