The following was submitted by the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce:
Batman & Robin, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, zombies and mummies will invade Stoneham businesses this weekend as the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Stoneham TV and Rebuilding Rounds Playground, host the 3rd Annual Halloween Trick or Treat Stroll on Saturday, October 27 from 2 to 4 PM.
Costumed youngsters, accompanied by adults, can trick or treat in and around Stoneham businesses and participate in fun activities at Stoneham TV, according to Chamber board member Cathy Doucet. “It should be a fun afternoon with lots of activity at local businesses, at the Old Burying Ground and over at Stoneham TV!”
Businesses continue to sign on to provide treats, according to Doucet, and now include Amore Pizza, Bacci’s Restaurant, Body Mind Systems, Book Oasis, Cape Ann Kitchens, Children’s Dental Care, Curtain Time, Doucet Remodeling & Design, Fuller House, Gaetano’s Ristorante, Helaine Marie, Honey Dew Donuts, J&B Butcher, Let’s Dance, Liberty Bell Roast Beef & Seafood, Melissa’s Main Street Bistro, McDonough’s, Men’s Room, Nicole’s Hair Salon & Day Spa, Oro Salon & Spa, Red Wing Shoes, Rounds Hardware, Russo Tux Shop, Sal’s Pizza, Spartan Ace Hardware, Stoneham Cost Cutters, Stoneham Fire Department, Stoneham Historical Society, Stoneham TV, Stoneham Theatre, Super Stop & Shop, To Make Beautiful, with more still to come. Businesses will display a sign in their front windows indicating that they are participating as a stop on the Stroll.
“We plan to include all businesses situated in and around Main Street” adds Doucet, “as well as all of our member businesses who want to participate, even if they aren’t located near the Square. This is a nice opportunity for the kids and adults to walk along Main Street and see what’s behind the front doors of our businesses and for the business owners to meet Stoneham residents.”
Amy Palmerino and Angelika Paul have been overseeing the planning for the activities at Stoneham TV, 53 Central Street (and just one block from Main Street) where children and adults can decorate pumpkins, play games and have an opportunity to be video recorded saying ‘You’re watching Stoneham TV’ for later broadcast. There is a suggested donation of $5 to participate in the Stoneham TV activities and all proceeds will go to the Rebuilding Rounds Playground fund, overseen by Paul and her group. There is no fee for participating in the Trick or Treat Stroll itself.
