An institution in the city of Boston since the 1830s, the Police Department is one of the oldest departments in the county. On Monday, the South Boston Historical Society will give residents a chance to learn more about BPD and its years of service to the community.
Robert Anthony, BPD's resident chronologist and an officer with the force, will explore that legacy in his lecture ‘Behind the Shield: Stories from the Boston Police.’
A decorated officer, Anthony has served in a number of capacities for the department and on Monday will share his years of research.
The event will be held at the South Boston Library located at 646 East Broadway. It starts at 6:30 p.m.
