Residents in South Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood will get a chance next week to meet those running to fill the now-vacant First Suffolk seat.
A “Candidates Night,” sponsored by the Fort Point Arts Community and Fort Point Neighborhood Association, will be held Tuesday April 2 to give residents a chance to meet those vying to be their next State Senator.
In addition to the Fort Point area, the senate district also includes South Boston, Dorchester, and Mattapan.
There are three Democrats and one Republican running for the seat that has been vacant since Jack Hart left the post in January.
Tuesdays speakers will include South Boston State Representative Nick Collins, a Democrat; Dorchester Representative Linda Dorcena Forry, a Democrat; South Boston resident and entrepreneur Maureen Dahill, a Democrat; and Dorchester native Joseph Ureneck, a Republican.
The event will be held at Made in Fort Point from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
