A new 16-unit 22,000 square-foot condominium building will be coming to an unused lot on East Second Street in South Boston.
The proposed four-story wood frame building located at 881-883 East Second St. which was recently approved by the Boston Redevelopment Authority’s Board, will include 14 market-rate units and two affordable units.
All the units will be two bedrooms, and the project also includes the construction of 34 underground parking spaces, trash storage and an elevator.
881 City Point, LLC is the developer of the project and the architect is Arthur Choo and Company.
The project is estimated to cost $6 million and add 20 construction jobs to the neighborhood.
Construction is expected to begin before the end of the year and should take one year to complete.
