A 23-year-old Scituate man is facing two counts of rape with force and six counts of statutory rape after allegedly having sex with two minors that he met through Facebook.
According to Plymouth County Assistant District Attorney Russ Eonas; Daniel Reilly, 23, of Clifton Avenue in Scituate was arraigned at Hingham District Court on Aug. 9 and again on Sept. 3 for his involvement with the two girls, both under the age of 16.
“The defendant initially contacted the minors through Facebook, which led to in-person meetings,” Eonas said in a telephone interview.
Eonas would not release any information about where the victims are from or their ages, but said there are two pending cases with the two separate girls.
“There is an ongoing investigation as well,” Eonas said.
Reilly is facing several counts in both incidents. On Aug. 9 he was arraigned on two counts of rape of a child with force, dissemination of obscene material to a minor, and enticement of a child under the age of 16.
Bail was set and posted for $10,000. He is due back in court on Oct. 2 on the charges.
On Sept. 3, he was arraigned on additional counts, including six counts of rape of a child, another count of dissemination of obscene material to a minor, and another count of enticement of a child under the age of 16.
The case was also continued for a probable cause hearing on Oct. 2. In the meantime, bail was set and posted for $15,000. Eonas said his office had asked for a $200,000 bail.
Judge Francis Marini imposed several conditions of his bail, including GPS monitoring. Reilly is to stay away from all people under the age of 18 and cannot have access to computers or social media.
Reilly’s attorney, Kevin Reddington of Brockton, was not immediately available for comment.
