A non-profit organization aiming to end and prevent homelessness in the Greater Boston area has recently named a Salem resident as its new housing search director.
HomeStart, located on Chauncy Street in Boston, hired Kate Jordan to assist homeless individuals and families who are currently being housed in shelters with locating permanent and affordable housing.
As housing search director, Jordan will work with HomeStart’s management team to oversee the agency’s long-term planning goals and assist with the development of programs. She will be responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of housing staff and manage all internal development programs.
In addition, Jordan will lead a monthly meeting of Greater Boston’s housing advocates, and will act as HomeStart’s primary liaison with local shelters and fellow supportive organizations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kate into the HomeStart family,” Linda Wood-Boyle, president and CEO of HomeStart said in a recent announcement. “Kate has extensive experience working in the field of affordable housing, and brings her considerable management and organizational skills to this position. She will be a wonderful addition to our staff.”
Prior to joining HomeStart, Jordan managed the Housing Consumer Education Center (HCEC) within Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership (MBHP.)
