The Boston Artists Ensemble (BAE) will be on stage this evening at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem.
The two-string quartet concert begins at 8 o’clock in the museum's East India Marine Hall. The BAE will play Mozart’s Quartet No. 21 and Bartok’s String Quartet No. 5.
“It’s really difficult and we worked really hard on it,” said Jonathan Miller, BAE artistic director. “The Mozart is very elegant and the Bartok is very fiery, churning and boiling with energy. They are extremely expressive works. The musical sentiments are as profound and deeply felt as one can describe in words.”
The works will be performed by Peter Zazaofsky and Bayla Keyes on violin, Lila Brown on viola, and Miller on cello.
There will be an additional performance on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Trinity Church in Newton Centre.
