Join Rachel on her wacky ride ... through Dec. 22!
"Craig Lucas' RECKLESS begins innocently enough with visions of puppies and children all snug in their beds on a snowy Christmas Eve. Suddenly Rachel is forced out into the snow where she embarks on a crazy ten-year journey to discover the true meaning of Christmas. Reckless, a richly inventive and often startling comedy filled with bizarre characters and events, will runs through December 22 at the STC Theater, 90 Lafayette Street in Salem. The production is directed by STC Artistic Director, John Fogle.
"RECKLESS is the antidote to Christmas treacle…a bracing sip of scotch in a world of sickly sweet eggnog…How often have you been consumed by waves of laughter after you’ve left the theater?" - Linda Weltner
Headed by Nancy Gahagan as Rachel, the cast includes Giovanni Alibiso, Julie Cleveland, Cyndi Geller, Mitch Kyle, Andy Lisle, Meredith McAlister, J. Garner Redmond and Allen Vietzke. Ariane Grossi is the Stage Manager and the show is designed by Jean Fogle, John Fogle, Gregory Mancusi-Ungaro and Linda Ross.
Dec. 4 & 5 at STC
STC's Second Stage takes on stories and music of the sea during a special event with Marblehead writer David Roper and local musicians Daisy Nell and Captain Stan on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 4 & 5 at 7:30 p.m. A Magical Evening of Music and Mermaids combines stories from Mr. Roper’s Boston Globe bestselling memoir Watching for Mermaids with sea shanties performed by one of the North Shore’s favorite maritime music duos.
Mr. Roper’s stories for adults present a magical, mysterious, and challenging waterborne journey. “In 1959, at 44.04N/68.35W, while rounding a bend on a small remote Maine island just east of Isle au Haut, a young boy stumbled upon two mermaids. No one believed him then. No one believes him now. I was that boy,” states Mr. Roper.
