Bonnie Galinski, a resident of East Kingston, N.H., has recently been named associate dean for admissions at Salem State University. In this capacity, she will directly supervise the offices of undergraduate and graduate admissions, as well as admissions operations.
Additional responsibilities will include work on various enrollment management initiatives. Galinski has many years of higher education experience at a number of institutions across New England, and has served Salem State in a consulting capacity for the last two years.
"As Salem State continues to refine and adapt its admissions procedures to incorporate best industry practices," said Scott James, associate vice president of enrollment management. "Bonnie Galinski's management experience in strategic planning and enrollment forecasting as well as in the development and implementation of effective communication streams, marketing and recruitment plans, staff motivation and supervision, and the fostering of cross-campus collaboration - among other skills - will be critical to our success in attracting and enrolling students to the university."
Galinski looks forward to her continued work at the university and the challenges her new position presents.
"It is a pleasure to collaborate with Salem State's very talented undergraduate and graduate admissions team as we seek to ensure that the university reaches its enrollment goals through the identification, admittance and enrollment of future graduates," Galinski said. "I am also happy to be part of a welcoming and collaborative community so committed to providing each student with the opportunity for a positive and successful educational experience."
A graduate of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and Boston University School of Education - where she received a master's degree in policy, planning and administration in higher education - Galinski has previously served as executive director of admissions at Lesley University, dean of undergraduate and graduate enrollment at Notre Dame College in Manchester, N.H., dean of admission at Newbury College in Brookline, and director of graduate admissions and financial aid at Boston University's School of Management.
Actively involved in the community, she currently serves on the board of directors of the Exeter Area Charitable Foundation in New Hampshire, and is co-chair and founder of New Hampshire's Festival of Trees.
