A suspicious package beside Quincy’s District Courthouse turned out to be filled with personal belongings, Quincy Police said Wednesday.
According to police, court officers called police about the package, which was found at approximately 9:20 a.m. under a mental health trailer near the courthouse.
Police called Boston’s Bomb Squad to investigate the package. Through the use of a police dog and X-rays, officers determined the box was not a threat.
“It wasn’t like a hoax, it just was someone left it there,” said Lt. Jack Sullivan with the Quincy Police.
The courthouse was not evacuated during the investigation, police said.
