Quincy police are investigating a report that gunshots were fired at a Sumner Street home on Tuesday morning.
No one was injured in the incident that occurred at 1:44 a.m., when a woman at 90 Sumner Street said she woke up and heard the house alarm going off.
The woman told police that she checked the alarm, but didn’t see anything, so she went back to bed.
Approximately 10 minutes later, four or five gunshots rained out from the front of her house, police said. The woman told police that she ran into the bathroom and called officers.
Arriving officers discovered five bullet holes in the house, two in the walls, two on the staircase, and one in the closet shelf. All appeared to have been fired from the front of the house.
Police said the incident is still under investigation, though it does not appear that the attack was random.
