Police investigate tire thefts
Quincy police are looking into several reports of stolen car tires and rims that took place in Quincy over the last two days.
According to police, police received a call about stolen tires and rims at 8:41 a.m. on Tuesday for a 2008 Acura at Quarry Street, received a call at 9:21 a.m. on Tuesday for a 2010 Honda at Southern Artery, and received a call at 6:01 a.m. on Wednesday for a 2006 Honda on Quarry Street.
Detectives are currently looking into the thefts and have advised residents to park under streetlights or close to their homes.
Anyone who witnesses anything suspicious is encouraged to contact the Quincy police.
Man arrested for theft, drugs
A Dorchester man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly trying to steal money from a Quincy store.
According to police, a male came into Boston Audio Designers on Southern Artery at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, jumped over the counter, ransacked the register, and then ran out of the store.
Employees chased him out and the man dropped the money as he fled.
Police found a man matching the suspect’s description on a bus headed towards Weymouth.
When searched, police found 26 Percocets in the suspect’s right front pocket.
Steven Hoxie, 39, from Dorchester was placed under arrest and charged with larceny from a building, and possession of a Class B substance.
Woman charged with assault
A Quincy woman was arrested on Tuesday after she allegedly threatened a couple with a knife.
Police said the suspect knew the couple and had had a dating relationship with the male victim.
The suspect allegedly threatened the pair with a knife and a screwdriver before running off down the street.
Police found the suspect nearby but did not find any weapons on her. Katlyn Curran, 28, from Quincy was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of assault.
