Metro Credit Union, the largest state-chartered credit union in Massachusetts, presented a donation of $500 in new, warm blankets as well as a check for an additional $500 to Peabody-based Citizens for Adequate Housing. The donation was made at Metro CU’s branch at 68 Main Street in Peabody. Branch employees also donated another $135 during the presentation.
Metro CU’s Peabody branch manager Vanessa Silveiria presented the blankets and check to Corey Jackson, Executive Director of Citizens for Adequate Housing, which ends homelessness one family at a time by providing a dignified, nurturing, and supportive environment that empowers each family to reach its social and economic potential.
“Gifts like this one from Metro Credit Union represent so much more than the value of the donation,” said Jackson. “They symbolize renewed hope and a second chance for every family we serve.”
