The Peabody "Pride in Motion" community cleanup scheduled for this weekend has been postponed due to rainy conditions forecasted for the area.
Originally scheduled for Saturday May 25, the event will now take place on Saturday June 22 at 9 a.m.
The cleanup effort marks the beginning of Mayor Edward Bettencourt’s ‘Peabody Pride in Motion’ initiative, which aims to reignite the citizen participation and community spirit often associated with the tenure of one of Bettencourt’s predecessors, the late Mayor Peter Torigian.
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes and sneakers or work boots for cleaning. Each volunteer will be given a special commemorative "Peabody Pride’ wristband.
More information regarding the event will be available in the coming weeks.
