The 10th annual Norwood Day celebration will kick off Friday at 8 p.m. with a fireworks show at Coakley Middle School, followed by a full day of food and fun on Saturday.
The “Taste of Norwood” food tent, a trolley, games, and activities will require buttons which are available for $3 in advance at the Civic Center, the Morrill Memorial Library, Town Hall and the fireworks show on Friday. Buttons will also be available for $4 the day of the event.
Norwood Hospital will hold its annual road race and walk Saturday at 9 a.m. starting in front of the hospital on Washington Street. Racers will wind their way through town and registration will remain open that morning until 8:30.
A parade featuring Norwood athletes and organizations will start at 9:30 a.m. at the library and continue through town to the Town Common.
From 9:30 to 3:30 p.m., activities including the food tent featuring Norwood-based restaurants and their chefs will be held at the Town Common.
Throughout the day, the newly reopened Norwood Theatre will offer tours and screenings of the short film, “The Red Balloon” every two hours.
The Norwood Police vs. Norwood Fire softball game originally scheduled for Friday has been rescheduled to Sept. 30 at Balch Elementary, 1170 Washington St. at 11 a.m.
