Bring your run down refrigerators and your old tires - Norwood’s annual “Fall Recycling Day” has been scheduled for Sept. 29 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
This year, the town will collect the following items: tires, batteries, freon appliances, kitchen and laundry appliances, microwaves, televisions, monitors, other electronics, fluorescent light bulbs, propane tanks, mercury thermometers, thermostats, and scrap metals, a news release said.
No hazardous waste, building materials, or garden clippings will be accepted on that day.
Styrofoam that has the recycling symbol “6” such as packing peanuts, take out containers, and coffee cups, will also be accepted.
Residents should bring proof of residency when dropping off items at the Sept. 29 event which will take place at the town’s composting facility off Winter Street. Also note that the prices for dropping off items range from $3 for off the rim tires to $10 for freon appliances such as refrigerators.
More information is available on the town website, www.norwoodma.gov.
