Here’s a look at happenings and events around Norwood this week.
Meetings: The Norwood Housing Authority will meet Jan. 3 at 3 p.m. at the administrative offices, 40 Williams Shyne Circle. The Board of Selectmen will meet Jan. 3 in a joint meeting with the Planning Board at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
Schools: Norwood Public School students return to class Jan. 3 after Winter Break.
Self defense: Founder of Personal Best Karate of Norwood, Christopher Rappold, will give a free lecture and self-defense demonstration at the Norwood Library Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. Sign up at the reference desk or call 781-769-0200 extension 110 or extension 222.
Art on display: Sharon-based artist Tatiana Roulin will have art displayed at Perks Coffee House in Norwood this month, 685 Washington St.
Computer class: The Norwood Library, 33 Walpole St., will hold a basic computer class this Saturday at 11 a.m. The class is free and open to all Norwood residents.
Piano lessons: The Norwood Recreation Department’s keyboard classes begin Jan. 7 at 165 Nahatan St. Lessons cost $80 and prekindergarten students attend at 11 a.m., first- and second-graders at 11:30 a.m., third-graders and older at 12:30 p.m.
