For the past two years, staffers at Norwood Public Access-TV have offered a bird’s eye view of the construction of the new Norwood High School.
Residents and others who wanted a front-row seat as the state-of-the-art school was built needed only to check in on the “tower cam” that filmed workers daily from 1 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. or tune in to monthly segments of the popular show “Norwood Digest,” hosted by popular local personality Jack McCarthy.
Now, the third documentary in a series airs this weekend on NPA-TV that follows construction from August 2010 through May 2011. Footage has been turned into an informative two-hour film featuring time-lapse videos and interviews with the project management team and workers on the job.
Previously, the station aired all aspects of construction of the new school in 2009, and another segment from January 2010 through that July.

NPA-TV’s public access coordinator, Meghan Staffiere Corbett, said watching the school go up has been an amazing experience for station staff.
“We have all had a part in doing this since Day One,’’ she said.
The TV station that was housed in the old school, now being demolished, is being unpacked and settled in the new building.
The Nichols Street location has been the place to be as construction, and now demolition, takes place and traffic is often stalled as onlookers watch, she said. So offering the documentary is another way to provide details to anyone who cares about the project, she said.
“Norwood is such a close-knit community, and people want to be involved in everything,’’ she said. “And they certainly want to see this.”
NPA-TV plans to keep up its construction updates for as long as workers are on site, Corbett said: “They’ll be here for another year or two.”
