Together Yes, a nonprofit in Norwood that works to promote community and sustainability, is looking for feedback from Norwood crafters on future sewing workshops.
According to a memo from the Friends of Norwood Center, Susan Clare of Together Yes is looking to put together a number of free "sewing basics" workshops during the fall and early winter.
Clare said the classes will show residents how to use a sewing machine, make repairs, mend, alter, and overall “just how-to.”
In addition, she hopes the workshops will teach residents how to turn clothing or other household fabrics into usable items to promote sustainability in the home.
“We won’t be buying so much that’s been outsourced overseas and transported back,” she said.
Clare is hoping Norwood residents will help her not only come up with a catchy name for the workshops, but that some will offer to help teach students as well.
Anyone interested in helping with the workshops or participating this fall should email Clare at firstname.lastname@example.org.
