The Newton Highlands Village Merchant Coalition will host the first annual Holiday Stroll and Sing-a-Long on Friday, Dec. 14 from 5 to 9 p.m.
The Candlelight Sing-a-Long, led by a professional choir director, will be held at 7 p.m. on the plaza at the intersection of Lincoln and Hartford streets, according to an event press release. All are welcome to participate; no musical experience is necessary.
Santa Claus will visit from 6 to 8 p.m., and visitors are encouraged to bring their own camera for photos.
Free, mini hot chocolate for kids and hot mulled cider will be available.
Area businesses will offer a variety of activities, refreshments, special discounts, and gift certificate giveaways for residents of all ages.
Bread & Chocolate will be hosting a grilled cheese and tomato soup social to benefit the Newton Food Pantry, so visitors can bring in a can and get a sandwich and soup for $5, or bring in five cans and get dinner for free.
Other highlights include a beer and wine tasting, a candy contest, holiday crafts for all ages, free mini makeovers, discounted wash and blow drys, and wine and cheese events.
Residents can pick up an event map at any participating business on Lincoln and Walnut streets in Newton Highlands.
