An elderly man was transported to the hospital with minor injuries after driving his car into a Village Bank in Newton this afternoon, police said.
There were minimal damages made to the bank on 431 Watertown St. after it was struck by the vehicle around 2 p.m., Newton Police Officer Eric Rosenbaum said. The man, who is in his 80s, sustained some injuries to his legs and back, Rosenbaum said. The vehicle he was driving, a 2009 Jaguar, was damaged heavily in the incident.
The man was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
The accident is still under investigation.
