Needham’s North Hill senior living community won a slew of awards at the National Association of Home Builders Best of 50+ Housing competition in Las Vegas last week.
The not-for-profit beat out many for-profit senior communities to win Best Repositioned 50+ Housing project “on the boards” in the nation – a prize awarded to communities that have invested in new construction or repositioning of their campus and amenities. “On the boards” means that the transformation is either planned or in progress, according to spokeswoman Erin Read.
Altogether, North Hill won three Gold and two Silver awards, and was singled out for a special Innovation Award for its wellness philosophy.
CEO Kevin Burke described himself as “stunned and proud” in a release about the awards.
“Our entire community has been so committed and creative in its efforts to transform senior living. We felt honored to even be named a finalist in this, the industry’s most prestigious awards program,” he said in the release. “To be further recognized for Innovation – it’s very exciting.”
North Hill is currently engaged in the Project True North Initiative, which includes new residences, transformed indoor and outdoor spaces, and innovative services and amenities, according to a release.
