An open period for applications for Needham’s new off-premise liquor licenses will begin next year on Jan. 7 at 9 a.m. and last until 4 p.m. on Jan. 18.
The Board of Selectmen will be finalizing regulations governing the new licenses at its Dec. 18 meeting, according to information posted to the town’s website.
The town voted on Nov. 6 to allow the retail sale of alcohol in the historically dry town.
Needham is now allowed six liquor licenses, and will get an extra two in 2018. No more than six at a time will permit the sale of all alcohol.
