Milton voters, like the state overall, strongly preferred Edward Markey to Gabriel Gomez in Tuesday’s special election for US Senate.
Matching closely to the 55-45 percent breakdown of the state, 55 percent of Milton voters supported Markey with 44 percent supporting Gomez.
Overall, 7,064 votes were cast, a lower turnout by nearly 200 votes than the local elections and senate primary drew in April. Turnout was just under 38 percent on Tuesday.
