Milton Town Administrator Annemarie Fagan has assembled a committee to look for a replacement for her old job – assistant town administrator.
The position will double as a human resources director, and Fagan will retain some of the duties formerly held by the assistant town administrator.
“It’s time we had a true human resources department and bring all human resources under this one person,” Fagan said at a selectmen's meeting Thursday.
The screening committee will consist of Selectwoman Kathleen Conlon, Personnel Committee member C. Forbes Sargent, School Committee member Leroy Walker, and Fagan.
Fagan said she performed the personnel work on the side in addition to the responsibilities of doing the assistant town administrator position, and would like her replacement to focus more on those responsibilities.
Selectmen unanimously approved Fagan’s new job description for the assistant town administrator and human resources director.
Fagan was selected as town administrator earlier this year after selectmen declined to renew former town administrator Kevin Mearn’s contract. Fagan worked as assistant town administrator for 13 years and served as interim town administrator on three occasions during that time.
