Fifty-two students from Pierce Middle School were recognized Thursday for achieving a “280,” a perfect score for the annual Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System tests.
Results from the tests were recently released, and Principal Karen Spaulding wanted to honor students who achieved the top scores, a news release said.
“You are spectacular,” she told the group at a luncheon provided by the school. “I think your accomplishments are pretty remarkable.”
Milton school Superintendent Mary Gormley and Assistant Superintendent John Phelan also attended the ceremony and gave out certificates to every member of the “280 Club.”
“You did not get these scores by guessing,” Gormley said. “You give 100 percent each and every day and we are proud of you.”
