The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the redesigned Houghton’s Pond Bathhouse in Milton next Monday at 9:30 a.m.
Houghton’s Pond is located in the 7,000-acre Blue Hills Reservation in Milton off Route 93 South. The new bathhouse will include outdoor terraces, walking areas, and erosion control, according to the architects in charge of construction, HKT Architects.
Construction on the $3.15 million project, which also includes a wooden boardwalk from the parking lot to the beach, began last spring. Plans were designed with the hope in mind that the new design would bring more people to the 24-acre pond.
Houghton’s Pond is located at 848 Hillside St. For more information about the project or the ribbon cutting, call the DCR at 617-626-4973.
