A public meeting is slated in Melrose to discuss public transit-oriented development near the Cedar Park and Highland commuter rail stations.
Planners from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council and the city will be on hand Wednesday to discuss the future of neighborhoods in the area of the two stops, which are located about a half of a mile apart along the Haverhill line.
The area is one of three commuter rail sections being reviewed by the planning council using a Sustainable Communities Grant. Areas in Beverly and Quincy are also being reviewed.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on the second floor of the Milano Senior Center.
