The Melrose School Committee is looking to change its regular meeting day from Tuesday to Thursday, according to the committee's chairwoman.
The change would make it easier on school administrators who attend meetings, and prevent conflicts with the Board of Aldermen, who sometimes hold their meeting on Tuesday if there is a Monday holiday, School Committee Chairwoman Kristin Thorp said in an email.
Changing dates has been on the table since last summer, when Cyndi Taymore took over as superintendent, and suggested it would be easier for school administrators to attend evening meetings if they are scheduled later in the week, Thorp said.
"There is no real reason for our meetings being on Tuesdays, except history, so we started talking about the possibility of moving them," she said in an email.
The committee will be accepting feedback on the proposed change until April 1, and will vote on the proposal April 9. The change would be effective January 2014.
