Halpin, a 6-foot-5-inch forward from Melrose, scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Rams en route to a 77-68 victory over the St. Joseph's College Monks. His 1,000th point came with 9:29 remaining in the second half, when senior Chris Torres of Brockton fed Halpin down low for a wide open lay-in. Halpin has scored 103 points over the first six games of the season and has tallied 31 rebounds.
