A Medford man was arrested at Forest Hills MBTA station Friday morning after attempting to open up a hot dog stand that did not belong to him, according to transit police. It was about 5 a.m. when an MBTA employee at the station noticed Dana Reis, 56, opening the stand and called police. The worker was familiar with the man who usually runs the stand and knew it didn't typically open until later in the morning, police said.
Reis allegedly told police that he was "filling in for his friend," but he didn't have any contact information for the stand operator, or a vending license.
A records check found Reis was wanted on warrants stemming from multiple drug violations in Boston, and charges of larceny and defrauding an innkeeper out of Worcester District Court. He was arrested on the outstanding charges.
