BARNSTABLE, Mass. (AP) — Police have identified the victim of a weekend car crash in Hyannis as an 86-year-old Medford man.
Barnstable police said Monday that Eugene O'Leary was killed after the Mercury Milan sedan he was riding in collided with a pickup truck shortly after 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Route 132 and Attucks Lane.
The collision caused the Milan to roll onto its side, trapping both occupants inside.
Barnstable and Sandwich emergency personnel removed both occupants from the vehicle and took them to Cape Cod Hospital, where O'Leary was later pronounced dead.
The driver, Mary O'Leary, is in stable condition at Cape Cod Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
