The Tufts University Department of Music presents Tufts Concert Choir and Chamber Singers performing a two-part concert. This performance will take place in the Distler Performance Hall at the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 3 p.m. as part of the Sunday at Tufts – Community Concert Series.
Part one will feature the ensembles performing Agbadza, or native Ghanaian songs. The choirs will be led by Professor David Locke, and will be joined onstage by special guest Professor Alorwoyie playing lead drum, as well as the Agbekor Drum and Dance Society.
The second half of the concert will feature the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers, joined now by the Tufts Symphony Orchestra, performing Haydn’s Mass in Time of War (Paukenmesse). This piece will feature guest soloists Andrea Ehrenreich, soprano; Rebecca Folsom, alto; Thomas Gregg, tenor; and David McFerrin, bass.
