The Medford City Council unanimously approved $3.3 millionin technology upgrades for public schools this week, according to the school department.
The 7-0 vote Tuesday clears the way for the school department to put out for bid the upgrades, which are planned to bring 2,100 new computers to the district.
The high school library, administration offices, and teachers also will get new machines under the plan, Mayor Michael C. McGlynn said in November.
A second review by the council will be required when a vendor for the equipment is chosen.
