The ParkSCIENCE Children’s Festival, a day of family-friendly activities in Franklin Park, will return Feb. 20.
The annual event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., provides local children the opportunity to participate in a number of indoor and outdoor activities, ranging from tidal pools to puppet shows.
“We welcome Boston residents for this free day of fun and games at Franklin Park during the school break,” Mayor Martin J. Walsh said, in a statement. “We’ll provide plenty of entertaining indoor and outdoor activities for children of all ages.”
Thursday’s lineup includes the New England Aquarium Tidal Pool, Science from Scientists tabletop experiments, the Massachusetts Archaeology Education Consortium's archaeological detective game, the Massachusetts Horticultural Society’s Plantmobile, and demonstrations by iRobot, Science on the Street, and Boston Children’s Hospital.
Rosalita’s Puppets will be on hand, in addition to face painting and refreshments provided by New England Coffee.
The L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery School will also be at the park to lead youth on a tour of its Snowshoeing Discovery Course.
The event, which will be held at the Franklin Park Clubhouse at 1 Circuit Dr., is free and parking is available. For more information, contact the Boston Parks and Recreation Department at 617-635-4505 or visit www.cityofboston.gov/parks.
