Mattapan United’s planning process is coming to an end and it needs help implementing its ideas.
After a lot of work organizing around the community and developing connections, the grant-funded neighborhood group must now implement visions and initiatives associated with development area identified by the community.
Tackling business, housing, jobs, safety, community fabric, open spaces, and health in the neighborhood, the group must find those in the community that can aid in implementation.
A Request for Proposals has been issued by the group for “Community Champions” or those in the community who have both the ideas and initiative to better Mattapan.
A plan that details the specifics of a proposed initiative must be submitted even if it does not require finical support from the organization.
An application can be picked-up at the ABCD Family Service Center located at 535 River St. or can be found at www.mattapan-united.org.
The group is expected to present the selected projects at a “roll-out” meeting in early-June.
