As part of the Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Christmas Walk Weekend, the Marblehead Festival of Arts will host several events. On Saturday evening, December 7 at 6pm, the public is invited to attend a Wine and Cheese reception at the Holiday Artisan Marketplace. All are welcome to enjoy the refreshments and to view the Festival’s slide show.
On Saturday and Sunday, the Festival of Arts invites all to come shop and mingle with the artists at its 10th annual Artisans’ Holiday Marketplace at Abbot Hall,188 Washington Street. Hours of operation will be Saturday, December 7, from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, December 8, from 10 am to 4 pm.
“Over the years, the Marketplace has become a favorite destination for Christmas Walk shoppers. It features a variety of arts and crafts works, at many different price levels, that are treasures for personal use and wonderful gifts,” said Kiki Taron Kinney and Pam Duncan, Holiday Artisans’ Marketplace co-chairs. “We are proud to support a show caseof more than 20 local and regional artists who bring their many, varied talents to the event.”
Along with the artisans, the Festival is pleased to welcome local Girl Scouts, Hospice of the North Shore and Marblehead’s Community of Friends providing holiday wares.
The Festival’s Logo Store is set for Abbot Hall during the Artisans’ Holiday Marketplace. A number of items from the 2013 summer Logo Store will be available, as well as a limited inventory of fun, “vintage” pieces from previous Festival years. There will also be Hestia ornaments, which make great
The Market place is also one of the selected sites to vote for the Marblehead Festival of Arts 2014 Logo. The Festival is represented by a new logo each year, the result of a competition among graphic artists, students and art enthusiasts. This year, over 60 designs were submitted. A panel of judges will narrow the entries to four finalists. Festival fans are invited to vote for their favorite design through December 22. The winning logo will be revealed at the Festival's Logo Premiere Party at the Landing Pub and Restaurant Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 7 to 9pm.
