Renowned Children’s Author Sheila Duncan, President of Larkin LTD., is currently a finalist in Martha Stewart’s American Made Online Choice Awards for her popular children’s character, Trouble The Dog. Trouble is one of the few plush toys available in the U.S. that is 100% created and handcrafted in the USA. Ms. Duncan is the co-creator of the plush character Trouble and the popular children’s book “Here’s Trouble.”
Ms. Duncan notes, “It costs our company more to have Trouble The Dog produced in the U.S, but the quality of craftsmanship, fabric and plushness of the toy are superior – which are very important qualities when presenting a toy to children."
Instead of simply creating a children's character, Duncan created a character with a mission. The book helps kids to learn how to deal with the bumps that life brings - gently and with humor. It is Duncan’s personal mission to turn Trouble The Dog into a global ambassador of hope for children. Local votes can help to realize this dream.
“I am hoping to get the word out to fellow Trouble fans," said Duncan. "It just takes a minute to cast your vote. Trouble and I thank you for your support of our American Dream.”
Voting is open to the public starting August 26th, 2013 by following the link:
According to a spokesperson for Martha Stewart Living, “Just this week, the 1,000th nomination was submitted for the American Made Awards. It means that not only are we in the midst of a shift in our culture where creative entrepreneurs are defining a new American economy, but those entrepreneurs are taking steps to be recognized and celebrated for their achievements.
